Uber announced an increase in the price of its services

Uber announced that it will increase the prices of its services following the rising “trend” of prices.

They introduced a temporary fuel surcharge on Friday, citing recent increases in gas prices.

Customers will have to pay an extra $0.45 to $0.55 for each Uber ride, and $0.35 to $0.45 for each Uber Eats order, starting March 16th. The amount of the price charged varies depending on the customer’s location. Uber officials said the surcharge will go straight to the employees’ wallets.

Uber released a statement saying, “The surcharges are based on the average trip distance and the increase in gas prices in each state. This is temporary for at least the next 60 days, when we’ll reassess.”
