Forney Police Department investigation into child harm allegations led to arrest of two residents

The Forney community received concerning news when James Richard II and Syasandrea Conroy were detained by local police for allegations of child harm. Such accusations are classified as first-degree felonies in Texas. The duo was apprehended on Friday, September 8, following a comprehensive inquiry by the Forney Police Department.

An emergency call from an elementary school in the Forney Independent School District revealed the situation. This call was triggered by a student with substantial recent injuries that necessitated immediate care, according to Dallas Metro News.

On reaching the school, officers promptly realized the gravity of the student’s condition and summoned urgent medical aid. The child was rushed to a nearby medical center for detailed examination and care.

For the protection of the hurt child and a sibling, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services temporarily assumed guardianship of both. This action was taken to shield them from potential harm.

Subsequent to the probe, officers executed a search at the accused individuals’ home, unearthing critical evidence. Consequently, Richard and Conroy were arrested and placed in municipal detention on charges of injuring a child, an offense carrying weighty legal implications.

The Forney Police Department extended its appreciation to the staff of Forney ISD, the Department of Family and Protective Services, and the medical team for their praiseworthy intervention.

“The safety and security of children are of the utmost importance, we ask the community to please come forward and report if you suspect abuse of any kind,” the department announced.

Authorities mentioned that the inquiry is still in progress and additional charges might be added.
