Xenia, Ohio – One person was arrested by police after a brawl that eventually escalated into a fatal shooting.
Police responded to reports of shots being fired at a bar located in the 300 block of Home Avenue, called The Roundtable, at approximately 1:30 a.m.
According to Captain Steve Lane of the Xenia Police Division, two individuals were leaving the pub when they got into an altercation in the parking lot of the business. According to him, the argument became more heated, and then one of the people involved took out a gun and shot the other. The alleged gunman then got into their vehicle and drove away from the site.
It wasn’t long before police came and discovered the victim lying on a parking lot floor. According to Lane, the victim was in critical condition when they were taken to a nearby hospital. Since then, the Xenia police have informed the public that the victim, who was 30 years old and named Jacob S. Scoby, has died.
The suspect, Brad A. Stewart, 32, was arrested following a police chase. He was booked into the Greene County Jail on multiple charges, including murder, felonious assault, and weapons under disability.
