OVI Task Force will set up a sobriety checkpoint in Dayton

Dayton, Ohio – The Combined Agency OVI Task Force of Montgomery County will set up a sobriety checkpoint in Dayton tonight to make our roads safer and reduce the number of accidents caused by impaired drivers.

The location of the checkpoint will first be in the neighborhood of Troy Street and Stanley Avenue, and later it will be moved to the neighborhood of South Smithville Road and Linden Avenue.

Between 7 p.m. and 12 a.m., members of the Combined Agency OVI Task Force and Dayton Police Department officers will check drivers on the side of the road to determine whether or not they are impaired by drugs or alcohol.

In the last four years, over 2,600 accidents caused by drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs were recorded.
