One person arrested after a verbal argument turned into a fatal shooting

Dayton, Ohio – An individual from Dayton who was accused of killing another person earlier in the week is now in custody.

On Wednesday evening, Dayton Police arrested Keanthony Strickland, 28, according to online jail records.

The incident occurred on Oxford Ave. just after midnight on Monday when Strickland was sitting in his car with a woman and her boyfriend, Al-Jaheem Brown, arrived and began speaking with her.

A verbal argument between Strickland and Brown ensued, which turned physical, and Strickland allegedly shot Brown three times in the back after Brown pushed the woman out of the way.

Police found Brown dead at the scene, while Strickland drove away and later abandoned his car. Strickland was charged with murder, felonious assault, and weapons charges on Wednesday.
