Residents invited to join the 2025 Block by Block Neighborhood Conference in Dayton

Dayton, Ohio – Residents of Dayton will have the opportunity to connect, learn, and collaborate at the 2025 “Block by Block” Neighborhood Conference on Saturday, April 5. The event, designed to help strengthen neighborhoods, will take place at Westwood Elementary School, located at 2805 Oakridge Drive, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Admission is free, and attendees will be provided with breakfast and lunch.

Workshops and Sessions Empower Residents

Attendees will have the chance to participate in informative workshops and breakout sessions covering key topics relevant to neighborhood development and community well-being. Sessions include:

  • Grant/Proposal Writing 101 – Learn the basics of securing funding for community projects.
  • Housing in Dayton: Affordability and Availability – Explore solutions for housing challenges.
  • Know Your Resources – Gain insight into reporting tools and tracking systems for transparency.
  • Engaging Your Neighbors – Discover effective ways to build stronger community connections.
  • Small Business Certification – Learn how to work with the City of Dayton as a certified business.
  • Power Savings – Find out about energy programs that help lower utility bills.
  • Neighborhood Safety – Learn about initiatives to keep Dayton’s communities secure.

Beyond the workshops, the event will feature a collaborative art project and a resource fair, providing fun and educational opportunities for attendees.

Keynote Speaker to Share Impactful Message

This year’s keynote speaker is Monnie Bush, founder and CEO of the Victory Project, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of Dayton’s youth and making a positive impact in city neighborhoods. His message will highlight the importance of community involvement and how small efforts can create lasting change.

A Chance to Reconnect After Last Year’s Cancellation

The 2024 conference was canceled due to severe weather and power outages, making this year’s event even more special. Residents are encouraged to attend and take full advantage of the workshops, networking opportunities, and community-building activities.
