Labor Day holiday brings garbage and recycling collection schedule changes across Dayton, Moraine, and Jefferson Township

Dayton, Ohio – The Labor Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 7, will result in temporary changes to waste collection schedules in Dayton, Moraine and Jefferson Township.

The City of Dayton Division of Waste Collection announced that several garbage, recycling and bulk collection services will be affected during the holiday week. Residents are encouraged to check the schedule for their community and have containers ready on time.

Dayton collections delayed by one day

In Dayton, garbage and recycling collection will operate on a one day delay throughout the week of Sept. 7. There will also be no bulk collection in Dayton during the holiday week.

Moraine residents who normally have garbage and recycling collected Friday, Sept. 11, will instead receive service Saturday, Sept. 12. Officials noted that this is not a bulk collection week in Moraine.

Jefferson Township will also experience schedule changes. Garbage collection will run one day behind its regular schedule for the week.

Recycling and bulk collection that would normally take place in Jefferson Township on Friday, Sept. 11, will move to Saturday, Sept. 12.

Customers in all affected communities should place their containers at the designated collection point by 6 a.m. on their scheduled collection day.

The temporary adjustments are tied to the Labor Day holiday, and residents should plan for the delays when preparing their garbage and recycling for pickup.
