A total of about 120,872 pounds of ground beef products have been recalled because of the possibility of E. coli contamination in the product.
According to the United States Department of Agriculture’s website, Lakeside Refrigerated Services, a Swedesboro, New Jersey-based company, issued a recall statement on Monday for the beef it had produced.
On February 1, 2022, a regular inspection of imported items made between February 1, 2022, and April 8, 2022 revealed a problem that was not previously known.
The establishment number “EST. 46841” appears within the USDA mark of inspection on the items that are subject to recall. These products were sent to retail outlets around the United States.
The majority of people who get infected with the bacteria have bloody diarrhea and vomiting. A stool sample is often used to diagnose the infection. The most common form of therapy involves aggressive rehydration and various forms of supportive care.
Most people get better in a week, but on rare occasions, some people get a more serious infection.
The Food Safety and Inspection Service of the United States Department of Agriculture is worried that certain products may be in customers’ refrigerators or freezers. Those individuals who have bought these items are reminded not to eat them but instead to dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase.
