Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office announces three National Night Out events focused on community, safety, and family fun

Dayton, Ohio – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is inviting residents to take part in three National Night Out events this August, offering families an opportunity to spend time with deputies, first responders, and community partners while learning more about public safety.

National Night Out is held each year in communities across the country with the goal of bringing neighbors and law enforcement together in a relaxed setting. The events are designed to strengthen trust, encourage community involvement, and build safer neighborhoods through positive interaction.

In its announcement, the Sheriff’s Office encouraged residents to participate, saying, “We hope you’ll join us at one of our three National Night Out events as we come together to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the communities we serve.”

Officials also described National Night Out as “an annual nationwide event that brings neighbors, deputies, and community partners together for an evening focused on building connections, promoting public safety, and creating lasting memories for families.”

Three locations will host family activities

The first event will take place on Tuesday, August 4, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Northridge High School, located at 2011 Timber Lane in Harrison Township.

Visitors can enjoy music, games, food and refreshments while also meeting police officers and firefighters. Organizers say the event is intended to help strengthen relationships between first responders and the people they serve.

A second celebration will also be held on August 4 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 5471 Far Hills Avenue in Washington Township.

Families attending that event can take part in a variety of activities, including Touch-A-Truck, inflatable attractions, games, K9 demonstrations, face painting, family activities, and food and drinks. Organizers noted that National Night Out is a nationwide event that helps strengthen relationships between law enforcement and local communities.

The third event is scheduled for August 4 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Arthur O. Fisher Park, located at 5661 Dayton-Liberty Road in Jefferson Township.

That celebration will feature free food, face painting, bounce houses, music, Touch-A-Truck displays, and a variety of family-friendly activities.

Organizers are encouraging residents of all ages to attend and enjoy an evening centered on community engagement, fun, and safety.

The Sheriff’s Office said each event will provide opportunities for families to meet deputies, learn about available community resources, and spend time with local first responders in a welcoming environment. Officials hope the gatherings will continue building stronger relationships with residents while creating enjoyable experiences that help make Montgomery County neighborhoods even safer.
