Montgomery County grand jury indicts man accused of intentionally striking Good Samaritan with vehicle during Harrison Township incident

Dayton, Ohio – A Montgomery County grand jury has returned an indictment against a man accused of seriously injuring a person who attempted to intervene in what appeared to be a domestic violence incident in Harrison Township last year.

Deshan Fisher was indicted on June 24, 2026, after an extensive investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit. Investigators used witness statements, surveillance video, follow-up interviews, and DNA evidence to identify Fisher as the suspect in the October 2025 incident.

According to investigators, the case began shortly before 1 a.m. on October 5, 2025. At approximately 12:54 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 4100 block of North Main Street after receiving a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.

Investigation led to multiple felony charges

Authorities said the investigation found that the victim had stepped in while witnessing what appeared to be a domestic violence situation involving a man and a woman.

During the confrontation, investigators allege that the suspect became involved in a physical fight with the victim. After the altercation, the suspect reportedly ran to a nearby parked vehicle.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect then entered the vehicle, accelerated directly toward the victim, and intentionally struck him.

The force of the collision threw the victim into the air, causing severe head trauma. Investigators said the driver did not stop after the crash and instead fled the scene.

Following months of investigative work, the grand jury returned an indictment charging Fisher with four felony offenses.

The charges include two counts of felonious assault, one alleging the use of a deadly weapon and the other alleging serious physical harm. He was also indicted on one count of vehicular assault and one count of failure to stop after an accident resulting in physical harm.

The charges are listed as follows:

  • Felonious Assault (Deadly Weapon) – F2
  • Felonious Assault (Serious Physical Harm) – F2
  • Vehicular Assault – F4
  • Failure to Stop After an Accident Resulting in Physical Harm – F5

In addition to the newly returned indictment, Fisher is also facing another pending case filed by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. That separate matter involves a charge of Having Weapons While Under Disability connected to an incident that allegedly occurred in November 2025.

Authorities also noted that Fisher is facing separate federal charges stemming from Operation Fly City.

The indictment represents the latest development in a case that remained under investigation for several months as detectives gathered evidence from multiple sources. The criminal charges are allegations, and Fisher is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
