Mercy Health receives state funding to boost oral health access in Ohio

Cincinnati, Ohio – Mercy Health is set to enhance oral health services in Ohio with the support of new state funding. The initiative focuses on increasing accessibility to dental care for underserved populations across the state.

State Senator Al Cutrona recently announced the approval of $110,000 by the state’s Controlling Board for Mercy Health. This funding will be instrumental in developing a continuing medical education program specifically tailored for oral health services. Additionally, the initiative will establish an enhanced referral network, enabling patients to receive care at local dental offices instead of resorting to emergency rooms for non-traumatic dental issues.

The new programs aim to streamline access to necessary dental care, reduce unnecessary emergency room visits and ensure more efficient use of healthcare resources. Senator Cutrona emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare and dental services, particularly for the residents of the 33rd Senate District.

“I look forward to seeing the impact of these funds and how they transform the lives of those in the community,” said Cutrona. This funding is expected to make a significant difference in the community by improving overall health outcomes and facilitating easier access to dental care for those who need it most.
