Dayton, Ohio – A local developer is pursuing another residential project in Dayton’s South Park neighborhood, marking at least the third housing complex the company has proposed or developed in this area over the last few years.
Beavercreek developer Oberer Thompson Company, doing business as The Flats at South Park III LLC, plans to construct new market-rate housing on the former Cliburn Manor site. The site design and housing product mix will depend on market demand, but will largely consist of single-family homes using “urbanist” designs compatible with the South Park neighborhood, according to city documents.
In order to proceed with the development, the city of Dayton must first approve the sale of 4.68 acres of property located at 200 Burns Ave. The ordinance also empowers the city manager to execute the agreement and quit claim deed associated with the proposed project.
The new housing development comes as Oberer is in the midst of another residential project in South Park. The Flats at South Park II, also referred to as The Residence At South Park in city documents, is planned for the 600 block of Warren Street in Dayton.
