Community input needed to help shape Dayton’s plan for safer and more modern streets

Dayton, Ohio – The City of Dayton is taking a major step toward improving road safety by developing a comprehensive Road Safety Action Plan. This initiative is a crucial part of the city’s effort to secure federal Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Aiming for Safer and More Efficient Roads

The SS4A program was established under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law of 2021 to support systematic solutions that reduce roadway fatalities and serious injuries. Once fully implemented, the Road Safety Action Plan will help modernize local streets, making them safer and more accessible for drivers, passengers, cyclists, pedestrians, and commercial users.

City officials believe that by securing SS4A funding, Dayton can significantly enhance road infrastructure, reduce accidents, and create a transportation network that benefits everyone.

How Residents Can Participate

Dayton’s Road Safety Action Plan relies on public input to ensure it reflects the real needs and concerns of those who use the city’s roadways. Residents and commuters are encouraged to participate in several ways:
