Dayton, Ohio – A statewide human trafficking enforcement effort in Ohio led to more than 120 arrests and helped connect survivors with critical support services, according to officials involved in the operation.
The Miami Valley Human Trafficking Task Force announced its participation in Operation Spring Cleaning, a coordinated initiative organized through the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. The operation focused on identifying individuals attempting to purchase sex while also helping victims and survivors receive assistance and long-term support.
Authorities said law enforcement agencies from across Ohio worked together during the operation as part of a broader effort to combat human trafficking and exploitation. In total, 122 people were arrested statewide.
In the Miami Valley region, four men were arrested and charged with solicitation, a misdemeanor offense. Officials identified those charged as Joseph Ferguson, 56, Nicholas Gregory, 30, Michael Duffy, 67, and Corbin Griffith, 39.
Investigators said the operation was designed not only to target buyers but also to identify and assist individuals who may have been exploited or trafficked.
Survivors Connected With Support Services
According to the task force, six human trafficking survivors in the Miami Valley area received assistance during the operation. Officials said survivors were connected with healthcare providers, victim advocates, and social-service organizations to support recovery efforts and long-term wellbeing.
Sheriff Rob Streck emphasized that fighting human trafficking requires both enforcement and compassionate support for victims.
“Human trafficking continues to be a devastating crime that exploits vulnerable individuals for profit,” said Sheriff Rob Streck. “Operations like this demonstrate the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and community partners. While we remain committed to holding offenders accountable, we are equally focused on ensuring survivors receive the support, resources, and compassion they deserve.”
Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost also praised the operation and the agencies involved throughout the state.
“Operation Spring Cleaning was a resounding success, thanks to our partners across the state, including the Miami Valley Human Trafficking Task Force,” said Dave Yost. “During this operation, law enforcement and social-service organizations came together to arrest those seeking to buy sex and provide critical services for human trafficking survivors. Our message is simple: Don’t buy sex in Ohio.”
Multiple Agencies Worked Together
The Miami Valley Human Trafficking Task Force operates through a partnership involving the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Butler Township Police Department, Oakwood Public Safety Department, and Homeland Security Investigations.
Officials said the agencies combine investigative resources, community outreach, and specialized expertise to identify trafficking operations and assist victims across the region.
Authorities are continuing to encourage the public to report suspected human trafficking activity or possible exploitation involving minors. Anyone with information connected to human trafficking cases is urged to contact the Regional Dispatch Center at 937-225-4357.
