Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announces major economic projects expected to create 437 jobs and bring nearly 100 million in investment

Columbus, Ohio – A series of new economic development projects is set to bring hundreds of jobs and major investment across Ohio after state leaders approved multiple initiatives aimed at strengthening business growth and workforce expansion. Mike DeWine, Jim Tressel, and Lydia Mihalik confirmed that five projects have been cleared, a move expected to create 437 new jobs while also retaining 315 existing positions statewide.

The approvals came during a meeting of the Ohio Tax Credit Authority, which reviewed proposals submitted by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Officials said these projects are projected to generate more than $29.4 million in new payroll and nearly $100 million in total investment, signaling a broad push to boost economic activity across several regions.

Projects spread across regions bring jobs and investment

In central Ohio, Centric HC, LLC is planning a major expansion in Worthington, located in Franklin County. The company expects to create 200 full-time-equivalent positions, bringing an estimated $14 million in new annual payroll. The project involves expanding its headquarters and strengthening its integrated services that combine health benefits, payroll, and wellness solutions. To support the effort, the Tax Credit Authority approved a 1.678 percent Job Creation Tax Credit for nine years.

In the northeast region, multiple projects are moving forward. The Technology House, LTD is planning growth across Streetsboro and Solon. The company, known for its advanced digital manufacturing and 3D printing services, expects to create 72 jobs with more than $5.3 million in new payroll. The expansion focuses on bringing more manufacturing capabilities back to the United States. This project received a 1.446 percent tax credit for eight years.

Another northeast development involves Webb Chemical Service Corporation, which is expanding into Strongsville. The company plans to open operations in a vacant building, creating 25 jobs and generating $2 million in payroll. Officials approved a 1.249 percent tax credit for seven years to support the move.

Southwest Ohio will also see growth as Ohio Valley Electrical Services, Inc. plans an expansion in Blue Ash. The company intends to create 40 new positions and add nearly $2.9 million in payroll. The project includes new construction and additional space to support its operations across the Midwest. The Tax Credit Authority approved a 1.266 percent tax credit for seven years for this effort.

In northwest Ohio, Whirlpool Corporation is moving forward with a project in Perrysburg. The company plans to create 100 jobs and generate $5.2 million in new payroll by establishing a subassembly and plastic injection molding facility. This development is aimed at supporting its manufacturing operations within the United States and increasing internal production capacity. The project received a 1.312 percent tax credit for eight years.

Together, these projects highlight a broad strategy to grow Ohio’s economy by supporting business expansion in different sectors, including healthcare services, manufacturing, and construction. Officials say the combined impact of job creation, payroll growth, and new investment will help strengthen local communities while providing new opportunities for workers across the state.
