Dayton, Ohio – Young minds and small businesses will take center stage once again as the Kids Entrepreneur Expo returns to Dayton this spring, offering a lively space where creativity meets real-world learning.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Lohrey Recreation Center, located at 2366 Glenarm Ave. Community members are invited to attend and support Dayton’s youngest entrepreneurs as they proudly showcase and sell their own handmade goods and creative products.
Young entrepreneurs take the spotlight
At the expo, children will step into the role of business owners, presenting items such as jewelry, artwork, and a variety of treats. Each booth represents more than just a product—it reflects effort, imagination, and the early steps of learning how business works.
Visitors will not only have the chance to shop locally but also witness young participants practicing important life skills. Through this hands-on experience, kids learn how to communicate with customers, manage money, and promote their products. The event creates an engaging environment where learning feels natural and exciting.
The Kids Entrepreneur Expo has already proven its value to the community. Earlier this year, Dayton Recreation staff earned major recognition for organizing the event. In February, the program received a first-place Award of Excellence from the Ohio Parks and Recreation Association, standing out among many strong community initiatives.
Winning the top prize in the community events category highlights how impactful and creative the expo has become. It shows how a simple idea—giving children a space to create and sell—can grow into something meaningful for both participants and the wider community.
As the event returns, organizers hope to build on that success by bringing together families, shoppers, and young entrepreneurs once again. The expo offers a unique chance to support local youth while encouraging confidence, creativity, and early business skills that may last a lifetime.
