Dayton, Ohio – Two individuals have been taken into custody in Montgomery County in separate cases, with authorities pointing to strong coordination between multiple agencies and support from the community as key factors in the arrests. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that both cases were handled through joint efforts involving local, state, and federal partners.
Courtland Monaghan was arrested on several serious charges, including abduction, domestic violence, and strangulation. These charges reflect allegations involving harm and control over another individual, and officials say the arrest was the result of focused investigative work combined with cooperation across agencies.
In a separate case, Cassandra Macik was arrested on a charge of promoting prostitution. Authorities indicated that this case involved additional collaboration with specialized task forces that focus on human trafficking and related offenses.
Officials emphasized that these arrests were not isolated efforts but the result of ongoing partnerships. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office worked closely with the U.S. Marshals Service and the RANGE Task Force in both cases. The second arrest also included assistance from the Miami Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, highlighting a broader network of agencies working together to address complex crimes.
Law enforcement noted that coordination between agencies allows for better sharing of information, faster response times, and more effective outcomes. Officials expressed appreciation for the teamwork that led to both arrests, stating that continued cooperation between agencies remains essential in addressing crime and protecting residents. The cases now move forward through the legal process as authorities continue their efforts to respond to serious offenses in the region.
