Firefighters put out a fire at an unoccupied building in Dayton

Dayton, Ohio – On Thursday morning, firefighters battled to put out a structure fire in the 2200 block of East Third Street.

Firefighters responded to the structure fire at around 6 a.m.

According to Dayton District Fire Chief David Wright, when crews got on site, a major fire was seen outside the back of the building.

The building is unoccupied, according to Wright, but they have been called to fires in this area on multiple occasions.

Wright added that crews will be on the site for a few hours looking for hot spots.
