Man indicted following investigation into a string of Harrison Township thefts involving firearms, credit cards, and stolen property

Dayton, Ohio – A Montgomery County Grand Jury has indicted a man following an investigation into a string of thefts reported in Harrison Township that involved stolen firearms, debit and credit cards, and other personal belongings.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office announced that Danny North was indicted on Thursday, July 2, in connection with multiple thefts that occurred in the 4300 block of Riverside Drive.

Authorities said the investigation remains active, and detectives believe additional victims may still be unaware that their property was stolen.

Investigation linked suspect to multiple reported thefts

The case began after deputies assigned to the Harrison Township Substation responded to several theft reports between June 4 and June 9, 2026.

During the investigation, deputies determined that multiple apartments and vehicles had been targeted. According to investigators, firearms, debit cards, credit cards, and other personal property were taken during the incidents.

Detectives also discovered that some of the stolen debit and credit cards were later used to make fraudulent purchases.

Law enforcement officials said surveillance video, witness interviews, and additional investigative work helped identify Danny North as the suspect.

During the investigation, detectives recovered property from North that was later confirmed to have been stolen.

North was arrested on June 23, 2026, and has remained in the Montgomery County Jail since his arrest.

Following presentation of the case, a Montgomery County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging North with one count of Grand Theft of a Firearm, a third-degree felony, two counts of Receiving Stolen Property, both fifth-degree felonies, and two counts of Misuse of a Credit Card, both first-degree misdemeanors.

Investigators emphasized that the case is still ongoing. Detectives believe there may be additional people who have not reported missing items because they may have assumed their debit cards, credit cards, firearms, or other valuables had simply been misplaced rather than stolen.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging residents to take precautions by locking their vehicles and securing valuable belongings, including firearms, wallets, and payment cards.

Anyone who lives in or around the 4300 block of Riverside Drive and believes they were the victim of a theft between June 4 and June 9, or anyone with information that could assist investigators, is asked to contact Detective Taylor Gianangeli at 937-890-3430.

Authorities say additional information could help identify other victims and support the continuing investigation into the reported thefts.
