Georgia man arrested for possession of narcotics following a traffic stop in Alabama

Following a traffic check in Alabama, authorities said they arrested a Georgia man in possession of 50 pounds of marijuana, 25 pounds of THC edibles, and 8 pounds of fentanyl. He is now facing charges in Alabama.

According to authorities, deputies from the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office pulled a pickup truck pulling a trailer, operated by the Georgia man, for a traffic violation. The deputy got suspicious and requested that the trailer be searched.

Deputies say they found 50 pounds of what they called “high-grade marijuana,” more than 8 pounds of fentanyl, and 25 pounds of THC candies, cereal, and other foods in the trailer.

Drug trafficking charges had been filed against the driver, Howard Grant.

Grant informed authorities that he was traveling to the Atlanta region and then Pennsylvania.
