Springfield woman wins more than $25,000 on Ohio Lottery Cash Explosion after favorite numbers reveal bonus prize

Springfield, Ohio – For years, Louise Tarrant faithfully played Ohio Lottery games, always holding onto the hope that one day she might get the chance to appear on the Cash Explosion television show. That long-held dream finally became reality when her name was selected as a contestant, leading to an exciting experience and a significant prize.

Tarrant, who is known by the nickname Weeze, earned her chance to appear on the popular Ohio Lottery game show after purchasing a $5 Cash Explosion 25X Scratch-Off ticket. She bought the ticket at West Main BP located at 2112 W. Main St. in Springfield. Like many players, she entered the ticket into the My Lotto Rewards app, hoping that perhaps luck would eventually be on her side.

Her patience paid off.

Weeze later discovered that her name had been chosen to appear on the Cash Explosion show. The moment she learned about the selection quickly turned into an emotional and exciting experience.

Her niece was actually the first person to notice that Weeze’s name had been announced on the television show. The niece immediately called her to share the news, but Weeze initially had trouble believing it.

At the time, she was watching the program herself and did not see her name right away. When the announcement finally appeared on her screen, the excitement quickly took over.

“Let’s go!” she shouted, celebrating the moment with so much excitement that she later said she screamed until her voice was gone.

A Lucky Strategy on the Cash Explosion Stage

Soon after learning she had been selected, Weeze and her husband traveled to Columbus to take part in the taping of the show. The trip turned into what she described as a small getaway for the couple, calling it a mini vacation that also carried the chance to win big.

Once it was her turn on stage, Weeze relied on numbers that already held meaning for her. She selected her favorite KENO numbers, 3, 5, and 23. The choice turned out to be a smart move.

When number 23 appeared, it revealed a bonus opportunity. Weeze then chose the KENO card, which added a large extra prize to her winnings. That bonus alone brought in an additional $17,500.

By the end of the game, her total prize from the Cash Explosion show reached $25,400.

After the required 26.75 percent in state and federal taxes was deducted, Weeze will take home $18,605.50.

The unexpected prize has already inspired plans for a special celebration. Weeze and her husband say they are planning a trip to Orlando, where they hope to relax and spend time visiting one of their daughters.

For Weeze, the experience was more than just a win. It was the fulfillment of a long-held dream that came after years of playing and hoping her name might finally be called.
