Dayton, Ohio – The City of Dayton Department of Recreation has announced that construction is now underway for the planned upgrades at Kettering Field, located at 444 N. Bend Blvd. The project, which will span the next year, is designed to enhance recreational opportunities for residents while modernizing one of Dayton’s key community sports facilities.
As construction moves forward, officials stress that certain areas of the park will be closed to the public for safety reasons. Visitors are urged to avoid fenced-off sections, cone-marked zones, and any visibly active construction areas until the work is complete.
The improvements will bring significant upgrades, including new or improved athletic fields, synthetic turf surfaces, pickleball and tennis courts, and updated lighting, seating, and parking areas. City officials note that these enhancements will make the complex more versatile and enjoyable for a wide range of recreational activities and community events.
Construction is expected to continue throughout the next year with an estimated completion date of August 2026. City leaders say they will provide updates as the project progresses to keep residents informed.
With these improvements, Dayton hopes to create a safer, more accessible, and modern recreational space that will benefit families, athletes, and visitors for years to come.
