Water main break floods Kettering, road reopened after repair

Kettering, Ohio – Authorities said a road in Kettering has been reopened after a water main burst late Wednesday night.

According to the Kettering Police Department, Forrer Boulevard between Smithville Road and Hazel Avenue was blocked Wednesday night due to a water main break between Smithville Road and Hazel Avenue.

Montgomery County issued a press statement at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning, saying that the road had been cleared and that the required repairs had been completed.

The city said that there was no boil water alert in effect, and that people who were experiencing low water pressure could expect their water pressure to be back to normal soon.

A picture shared on the Kettering Police Department’s Facebook page showed the roadway was flooded with water at the time of the break.
