Versailles crossings closed after train a collided with a semi-truck

Versailles, Ohio – On Wednesday morning, a train collided with a semi-truck in Versailles, a village in Darke County, causing all crossings to be closed in the area.

According to a post on the Village of Versailles’ Facebook page, a westbound CSX train struck the vehicle at roughly 8 a.m. at the Steffin Street crossing. The CSX facility has been damaged a lot, and it’s not clear when the train will be able to move.

According to the village, all crossings inside the village of Versailles, including those on Steffin Street, Center Street, and West Street, are now closed due to the accident. The two open crossings at State Route 47 and Conover Road should be used for all traffic during this period of time.

There have been no injuries recorded as a result of the collision.

The crash remains under investigation.
