Two men struck, one fatally, in two separate accidents in Dayton

Dayton, Ohio – Dayton Police said a Good Samaritan was struck by a vehicle on Wednesday while attempting to help a man who had been fatally struck by another vehicle moments before.

The victim was identified as 28-year-old Dayton resident Terrence C. Bass by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

Reportedly, the vehicle dragged the victim for almost 100 feet after hitting him as he attempted to cross Cornell Drive at Fotip Lane at around 1:22.

Moments later, a second vehicle ran over Bass and also struck the man who was attempting to help Bass following the first accident.

The Good Samaritan was transported to a hospital for treatment of what appeared to be serious injuries.

An investigation into the accidents is ongoing.
