Thanksgiving holiday affects waste and recycling collection schedules in Dayton, Moraine, and Jefferson Township

Dayton, Ohio – The City of Dayton has announced temporary changes to its waste collection schedule for the Thanksgiving holiday, affecting Dayton, Moraine, and Jefferson Township. These schedule updates are being made to accommodate the holiday and ensure services continue with minimal disruption.

According to the City of Dayton Division of Waste Collection, services that normally occur on Thursday will shift to later dates. Residents are reminded to place containers at the designated collection point by 6 a.m. on their adjusted pickup day to avoid missed service.

Revised Pickup Days by Municipality

In Dayton, trash and recycling services originally set for Thursday will be moved to Friday, November 28. Bulk waste collection will occur on Saturday, November 29.

For residents in Moraine, all waste services including trash, recycling, and bulk pickup that are usually done on Thursday will now take place on Saturday, November 29.

In Jefferson Township, regular Thursday trash collection will be handled on Friday, November 28, while recycling and bulk waste will be collected on Saturday, November 29.

These adjustments help ensure that residents across the region still receive timely waste and recycling services, even as crews pause operations to observe Thanksgiving Day.
