Dayton, Ohio – The attempted robbery of an AutoZone on West Third Street is being investigated by the Dayton Police Department.
Sgt. James Gallagher of the Dayton Police Department said that officers were sent to the AutoZone shortly before 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, 2022, in response to a robbery that was taking place at the store.
The initial investigation showed the suspect fired at least one round upon entering the store. The suspect was subsequently shot by the security guard, who returned fire. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The investigation is ongoing.
