Suspect arrested for killing a 19-year-old girl

Dayton, Ohio – The suspect in the shooting death of Destiny Davis, 19, has been arrested on Tuesday morning, according to police.

According to a press statement from the Dayton Police Department, Quintin Clemons was arrested early Thursday morning and is currently being held on charges of homicide, felony assault, shooting over the roadway, and having weapons under disability. The Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office approved the charges against the defendants on Wednesday.

Officials with the Dayton Police Department stated the arrest was made with the help of members of the United States Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team.

According to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch, officers responded to a shooting on Alder Road at 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday and found the victim. When they arrived, they discovered that one woman had been shot, and a medic was summoned. The coroner was eventually sent to the site, and Dayton Police confirmed that the woman had died as a result of her injuries.

Destiny Davis, 19 years old, was identified as the victim by the Montgomery County Coroner on February 9.

Davis knew the shooter, according to Lieutenant Jason Hall of the Dayton Police Department, and this was not a random act of violence, Hall said. Davis was staying with a friend in the area at the time of the incident. When the incident happened, this friend contacted 911 to report it.

The incident was investigated and determined to be a murder.
