Strong wings left thousands in the Miami Valley without power

Dayton, Ohio – After strong winds knocked off electricity to more than 4,000 residents in the Miami Valley overnight, the issue has not changed.

According to the AES Ohio outage map, more than 10,000 individuals were without power as of late Wednesday night, with the majority of the outages coming from Clayton, Brookville, Germantown, Camden, and the Gratis region.

AES Ohio’s Mary Ann Kabel, director of corporate communications, said the power provider is fully staffed and has been keeping an eye on the weather forecast in recent days. Due to severe winds in the region exceeding 50 to 60 mph, she recommends people take caution, be well-prepared, and be patient.

It is unclear when the electricity will be restored.

Anyone experiencing a power outage can report it here.
