One person injured after an accident on I-70 near Lewisburg

Lewisburg, Ohio – A collision that occurred late Tuesday night on westbound Interstate 70 near Lewisburg resulted in the injury of at least one person.

Initial reports indicate that emergency crews were sent to the scene of a collision that took place at about 11:45 p.m. and involved a vehicle and a semi-trailer that was pulling a car.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said that crews got a report of a cow in the highway on I-70 West in the area before the accident.

The Ohio State Police have determined that a vehicle collided with the cow.

The first emergency traffic suggests that the semi-trailer struck the cow, which caused its brakes to lock up, and then was rear-ended by another vehicle. However, this information was not confirmed by authorities.

There was no information provided on the condition of the injured individual.

As crews worked to clear the road, I-70 Westbound was shut down at Arlington Road until approximately 5 a.m.
