One I-70 westbound lane reopened after a fatal accident

Clark County, Ohio – Following a deadly accident on the I-70 westbound lanes on Thursday, one lane has been reopened to traffic.

A person has been killed in a crash involving a semi-truck on I-70 near mile marker 63 on State Route 54, the Springfield Police Department says.

The westbound lanes of I-70 have been closed as a result of the accident. Traffic is being diverted onto S.R. 54 by the Ohio Department of Transportation. As of 12:20 p.m., one lane has been reopened for traffic.

OSP said the driver of the vehicle died, but no information has been released regarding the condition of the semi-truck driver.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
