According to the Horry County Coroner’s Office, a toddler from Ohio who was visiting North Myrtle Beach on Tuesday night passed away as a result of a drowning incident.
2-year-old Barron Mitchell Jr. from Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, as reported by Patty Bellamy, Deputy Coroner for Horry County.
According to Bellamy, the incident took place on Tuesday at 11:00 in the morning in the 300 block of North 54th Avenue in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The youngster passed away around 11:15 p.m. at the medical facility.
The North Myrtle Beach police department is conducting an investigation into the incident.
Later this week, an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
