Ohio reveals six new projects to create 415 jobs and drive investments statewide

Columbus, Ohio – Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted have unveiled plans to boost employment and economic development across the state. In a recent announcement, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) approved six projects that are expected to create 415 new jobs while retaining 1,118 jobs statewide. The combined efforts will generate nearly $24 million in new payroll and lead to investments worth close to $1.1 billion.

These projects, which were presented to the TCA by JobsOhio and regional partners, span multiple industries, reflecting Ohio’s focus on fostering growth through public-private collaborations. Below is a breakdown of the projects by region, showcasing the scale of development and expected community impact.

Central Ohio Sees Growth in Technology and Beverage Industries

In Clinton Township (Franklin County), Marussia Beverages USA, Inc., in collaboration with Watershed Distillery, will expand operations, creating 35 new jobs and generating $2.5 million in annual payroll. The company imports and distributes premium spirits, wine, and sake, emphasizing authentic brand experiences for consumers. To support this project, TCA approved a seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit at 1.280%.

Meanwhile, Microsoft Corporation is set to create 20 full-time positions with a payroll of $2 million in New Albany (Licking County). Microsoft’s ambitious investment of $1 billion includes $700 million for building facilities and $300 million for machinery. This development involves multiple locations in Heath, Hebron, and New Albany. The TCA granted Microsoft a 100%, 15-year data center sales tax exemption, which further cements Ohio’s status as a growing hub for technological innovation.

Northeast Ohio Expands Manufacturing Capabilities

In Perry Township (Stark County), Ohio Gratings, Inc. will add 60 jobs and increase payroll by $3.96 million through an expansion project focused on manufacturing metal grating and flooring products. The company’s seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit was approved at 1.339%.

Plastpro 2000, Inc., which manufactures energy-efficient fiberglass doors, is establishing a new location in Saybrook Township (Ashtabula County). This move will create 145 jobs and generate $7.9 million in payroll. Plastpro’s eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit was approved at 1.357%, helping the company meet the growing demand for high-quality residential and commercial products.

Southwest Ohio Benefits from Logistics and Precision Services Expansion

Hit Promotional Products, Inc., working with Profill Fulfillment, LLC, will establish a new location in Fairfield (Butler County), bringing 100 jobs and $4.8 million in payroll to the area. This project aligns with Hit Promotional Products’ focus on branded merchandise, logistics, and fulfillment services. The TCA approved a seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit at 1.266%.

Wulco, Inc., based in Hamilton (Butler County), will expand its operations to add 55 jobs and generate $2.78 million in payroll. Specializing in precision machining, fabrication, and packaging, the company supports industries like aerospace, defense, and oil and gas. Wulco operates under the CIMA Packaging brand, providing federal-compliant packaging solutions. The TCA approved a seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit at 1.156%.

Statewide Impact and Future Economic Growth

These six projects reflect Ohio’s commitment to economic growth, job creation, and long-term investments across various sectors. As Governor DeWine emphasized, these initiatives will support communities and industries while positioning Ohio as a leader in manufacturing, technology, and logistics.

Lt. Governor Husted highlighted the role of partnerships between government and private enterprises in driving economic development: “These investments will create good-paying jobs and ensure Ohio’s workforce continues to thrive.”
