Beavercreek, Ohio – The Kentucky State Police say that three members of the same Beavercreek family died in a car accident on Saturday in a rural part of eastern Kentucky.
Just before nine o’clock on June 18, the Kentucky State Police were summoned to the scene of an accident involving a single car that occurred at the intersection of Kentucky 182 and Cave Branch.
According to the preliminary findings of the investigation, Jitu Galani, 41, of Beavercreek, was driving a 2014 Honda CRV on Kentucky State Route 182 when he passed an entrance to Carter Caves State Resort Park.
Galani shifted the car into reverse and made an effort to drive backwards along the road.
The vehicle got stuck after dropping off the shoulder of the road.
After Galani made an effort to free the car, it rolled over the culvert and ended up on its roof in the creek below.
The Carter County Coroner, William Wadell, pronounced Jitu Galani, Nitu Galani, 39, and their 4-year-old kid dead at the scene. Only their 11-year-old son survived the accident.
Authorities said the family were Beavercreek residents, and they intended to set up camp and spend the night in the park.
