Dayton, Ohio – A new park, named Point Park, is set to take shape at The Point in Old North Dayton, bringing fresh green space and community amenities to the area. On September 4, the City Commission approved a construction contract for the first phase of the project, which will include landscaping, hardscape such as concrete and asphalt, and parking areas. Construction is expected to begin later this year.
The park, located on city-owned property at the intersection of Valley and Troy Streets, is the result of a collaborative effort between the City of Dayton, CityWide Development Corporation, and neighborhood residents. The vision for the park aims to provide a welcoming space for the community to enjoy.
Plans for phase two of the project, which will provide access to the Mad River shore, are currently underway as funding is being sought to complete this next stage.
