Man pointed weapon at people demanding to transport him after a fiery crash on I-75

Moraine, Ohio – A fiery accident that occurred on Interstate 75 in Moraine led to a weird situation in which the driver pointed a gun at bystanders and demanded that they give him a ride.

The report of a crash that occurred on Interstate 75 near mile marker 48 was made around 10:10 p.m. on Tuesday, as stated by the Moraine Police Department.

According to the police, the vehicle struck the median barrier in the southbound direction and then spun out into the northbound lanes. The vehicle caught fire and was totally engulfed by the flames.

The driver got out of the car and started running. He allegedly brandished a gun at other vehicles and asked to be transported, but no one took him, according to the police.

He continued his way on foot, and authorities tracked him down eventually under the Main Street bridge on Interstate 75.

The man reportedly left his firearm and a bag hidden in the bushes, according to the police. The weapon, which the police later determined to be an airsoft gun, was among the items they recovered, along with a machete.

The man was first transported to the hospital, and after he is discharged, he will be transported to prison.

The northbound lanes of I-75 were closed as a result of the incident.

According to the report from the Moraine Police Department, the individual was wanted on an outstanding warrant related to a probation violation.
