Man flown to a hospital following a single-vehicle accident

Champaign County, Ohio – A man was transported to the hospital by CareFlight after an accident with a pole that occurred on Wednesday in Champaign County.

At about 1:48 in the afternoon, emergency crews were sent to the scene of an accident involving a single vehicle that had occurred in the 4800 block of East U.S. Route 36.

A pickup truck driven by a 53-year-old motorist was traveling in the eastbound direction when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle went off the road on the left side, collided with a pole, and eventually came to a stop in a field on the north side of the road.

The driver reportedly had visible injuries and was flown to the hospital by CareFlight, according to the sheriff’s office. At this moment, we do not have any information on their condition.

The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office is now conducting an investigation to determine what caused the collision.
