Cincinnati, Ohio – A suspect in the deadly shooting of a teenage girl in Avondale has been apprehended by police. Javonte Dixon, 20, has been charged with the murder of 17-year-old Auvionne Chichester.
At around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening, police were sent to the Beechwood Apartments on Forest Avenue in Avondale.
Auvionne was discovered with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, which was treated immediately. She was taken to the hospital for additional treatment, where she died shortly after.
Dixon is accused of shooting Auvionne following an altercation, according to police.
According to Assistant Prosecutor David Wood, Dixon and Auvionne were the parents of an 18-month-old child.
Dixon’s bail was set at $1 million by a judge.
