Local residents advised on traffic changes due to water line improvements in Dayton

Dayton, Ohio – A significant water line improvement project has kicked off at the intersection of Needmore Road and Wagner Ford Road, prompting traffic adjustments expected to last until the end of October. This construction effort is crucial for enhancing the area’s water infrastructure and will cause changes in traffic patterns that local motorists need to be aware of.

Currently, traffic flow on Needmore Road has been narrowed down to one lane in each direction. This arrangement is set to continue through October 31, aiming to facilitate the construction work while maintaining vehicular access.

Furthermore, Wagner Ford Road will experience closures in two phases. The southern portion of Wagner Ford Road, just south of Needmore Road, is closed to all traffic until approximately September 15. During this closure, motorists are advised to follow a designated detour via Webster Street to navigate around the construction zone.

Starting September 15, the closure will shift to the northern segment of Wagner Ford Road, extending through to the end of October. A detour for this closure will utilize Old Troy Pike, helping drivers circumvent the affected area.

Residents and visitors are strongly encouraged to use alternative routes to avoid delays caused by the project. The city appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as they work to complete these necessary improvements swiftly and safely. Motorists should stay alert to further notices and maintain adherence to posted detours and signage.
