Innocent bystander killed after getting caught in the middle of a shootout between two groups in Columbus

Columbus, Ohio – According to the Columbus Police Department, a woman who was found to have been caught in the crossfire on the east side of Columbus on Saturday evening passed away.

The incident was reported to have occurred in the 3200 block of East Broad Street at around 8:41 p.m., according to the police.

According to the Columbus Police Department, Lelia King, 30, was struck by bullets inside her vehicle when caught in the middle of a shootout between two groups of people who were firing at each other.

King received first aid from a bystander, and then paramedics came and brought her to Mt. Carmel East Hospital for further treatment. According to the police, she was declared dead shortly after 11:00 p.m.

According to the Columbus Police Department, King was an innocent bystander in the incident.

King’s death marks the 74th murder this year in Columbus.
