Fireman hospitalized after responding to house fire in Springfield

Springfield, Ohio – A fireman was hurt while responding to a call about a residence on fire Monday.

Around 11 p.m., crews responded to reports of smoke in the neighborhood and discovered a home fire in the 700 block of Summer Street.

According to the Springfield Fire Department, while everyone who was inside the home managed to get out without being hurt, one of the firefighters had to be transported to a local hospital because of smoke inhalation.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.

Information about the condition of the firefighter was not released.
