Hopewell Township, Ohio – A woman was killed after being struck by a car on U.S. Route 127 in the afternoon on Saturday.
According to Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey, 69-year-old Marjorie Gehm was at her mailbox and trying to cross Route 127 when she was hit by a vehicle traveling from the other direction, according to Grey. Gehm was declared dead at the scene of the accident. The driver was not hurt in any way.
Rte. 127 was closed for many hours due to the accident.
The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the crash, and the case will be sent to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office for further review.
