Dayton, Ohio – As Earth Month approaches, the City of Dayton Office of Sustainability and Five Rivers MetroParks are preparing to host the Earth DayTON 2025 Kickoff Mini-Expo on Sunday, April 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 2nd Street Market. This event serves as the official launch of Earth Month celebrations throughout the Miami Valley, showcasing local efforts in sustainability, conservation, and environmental justice.
A Celebration of Collective Impact and Environmental Engagement
Earth DayTON is a celebration of all the forward-thinking individuals and organizations in the Miami Valley doing good work to help further sustainability, conservation, and environmental justice efforts. Since 2023, this initiative has helped spotlight opportunities for local residents to get involved in protecting and preserving the environment.
The Earth DayTON mini-expo gives attendees a chance to learn about regional initiatives, connect with local environmental groups, and discover volunteer opportunities aimed at creating lasting change. This event not only celebrates progress but also acknowledges the continuing environmental challenges communities face.
The region is fortunate to have myriad opportunities for people to help make a difference in our communities and for the world we live in year-round, but Earth Month provides a special time to elevate these efforts and share successes, as well as ongoing challenges, with those beginning or establishing the next steps of their journey.
This year’s kickoff will feature several engaging activities and informational exhibits. Drive Electric Dayton will host an EV Ride and Drive, offering visitors the chance to experience electric vehicles firsthand. At the community booth, Seven Seed Sowers will organize a seed exchange, encouraging local gardening and biodiversity efforts. Inside the pavilion, various organizations will provide educational materials, host interactive booths, and talk with attendees about their missions and ongoing projects.
