Driver hospitalized with serious injuries after crashing into vehicle

Dayton, Ohio – The driver of a vehicle that was involved in an accident on Tuesday morning and ended up in the yard of a residence was taken to the hospital for treatment.

A woman was reportedly traveling west on Superior Avenue when she went over the traffic island that was located in the middle of the intersection of Meredith Street, as stated by a report filed by the Dayton Police Department. After that, she went over the centerline and crashed into a parked vehicle that was facing east in the 700 block of Superior Avenue.

According to the report, the motorist then went over the centerline a second time before driving off the road and coming to a stop in a yard that was right across the road.

Officers were sent to the scene after receiving a report of the crash, and upon their arrival, they found the woman lying on the ground. First aid was rendered to the woman by the officers as they waited for the medics to arrive. She was then transported to Miami Valley Hospital with what were said to be serious injuries.

Both vehicles involved in the collision were significantly damaged.

At the time, authorities could not determine what might have possibly triggered the driver’s actions.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
