Dayton Police Department advises not to leave vehicles unattended

Dayton, Ohio – Dayton authorities are advising the public not to leave their vehicles running without them being nearby this winter.

Due to the fact that temperatures regularly drop below zero, most people leave their vehicles running to warm up before they go to work, and according to the Dayton Police Department, that is not the cleverest idea.

According to the DPD, aside from it being illegal, it only takes a split second for a thief to get into a running vehicle and drive away with it and everything inside, so be safe by turning off your car and keeping your keys with you.
