Dayton house completely destroyed, another damaged by an early morning fire

Dayton, Ohio – A fire broke out at a house in Dayton early Wednesday morning, and firefighters were sent in response.

The report of the house fire in the 700 block of Faulkner Ave. came out at approximately 4:40 a.m.

Fire officials said that firefighters encountered a house completely engulfed in flames with parts already collapsed. They also mentioned the residence had been unoccupied for a long time.

Residents nearby said that no one had lived in the house for more than 20 years.

Firefighters were afraid that the house would collapse if they entered to battle the fire from the inside.

The house was completely destroyed by the flames shortly after, and an adjacent residence was also damaged.

Information about the cause of the fire was not released pending investigation.
