Dayton hospitals put on alert about a victim wounded in an overnight shooting

Dayton, Ohio – A shooting took place in Dayton overnight, and hospitals in the area have been placed on high alert in case a person suffering from gunshot wounds appears asking for medical attention.

Officers responded shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday to a report of a shooting with injuries at the All in One gas station at 119 James H. McGee Boulevard, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch. When officers arrived at the scene, the victim left and was never seen again.

Authorities have alerted area hospitals to be on the lookout for the shooting victim. At this moment, no information about potential suspects has been made public.

The investigation is ongoing.
