Dayton home moderately damaged by fire on Tuesday evening

Dayton, Ohio – A resident has been forced to leave their Dayton apartment after it was damaged by fire on Tuesday evening.

At approximately 7 p.m., firefighters were sent to a two-story apartment in the 3000 block of Bright Bounty Lane in response to a report of a fire.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered an odor and smoke coming from the structure, according to Miami Valley Fire Department (MVFD) Battalion Chief Glen Jirka. When firefighters entered the structure, they discovered a blaze that had nearly extinguished itself.

The structure was moderately damaged.

There were no people located inside the home at the time of the fire, and there were no reported injuries.

The owner of the home will be displaced.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
