Dayton detectives ask for tips in serious crash involving truck towing yellow Hustler mower

Dayton, Ohio – The Dayton Police Department is asking for the public’s help as they continue to investigate a hit and run incident that left a pedestrian seriously injured earlier this month. The crash happened on Sunday evening, July 13, 2025, at approximately 7:10 p.m., at the intersection of Cornell Drive and Catalpa Drive.

According to investigators from DPD’s Traffic Services Unit, the pedestrian was crossing Cornell Drive when a vehicle traveling westbound struck them and then fled the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of the injuries has not been made public, but officials confirmed they were serious.

Authorities are now searching for a black Ford F-150 that was towing a trailer carrying a yellow zero turn Hustler mower. Police say the truck was last seen heading westbound on Cornell Drive shortly after the collision occurred.

Investigation Still Active

Detectives are pursuing leads and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who has relevant information to come forward. “We are looking for a black Ford F-150. The black Ford-F150 was towing a trailer with a yellow zero turn Hustler mower on it,” police stated.
