Dayton, Ohio – Families in Dayton now have the chance to secure summer plans for their children as registration has officially opened for the city’s popular Urban Adventures Summer Camp program.
The Dayton Department of Recreation announced that enrollment is now underway, with spots being offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Officials are encouraging parents not to delay, as availability is expected to fill quickly.
The program will run from June 1 through July 24, 2026, giving children nearly two full months of structured summer activities. There will be no camp on June 19 and July 3. The camp is open to children ages 3 through 12 and will take place at two locations, Lohrey Recreation Center and Northwest Recreation Center.
Activities and pricing designed for families
Urban Adventures Summer Camp offers a wide range of daily and weekly activities aimed at keeping children active, engaged, and social throughout the summer. Participants will take part in weekly field trips, swimming sessions, and structured programs that encourage both fun and learning. In addition, lunch will be provided through Dayton Public Schools, helping ease daily planning for families.
The cost of the program is set at 100 dollars per week per child, with extended care included at no extra cost. For families planning to enroll for multiple weeks, a discount is available. A 10 percent reduction is offered when four weeks are purchased in a single transaction, making the program more accessible for those looking for longer participation.
City officials say the camp is designed to give children a safe and supportive environment during the summer months while also offering parents a reliable option for childcare.
Registration is now open online at DaytonRec.com. Families with questions or those who prefer in person assistance can contact the Dayton Department of Recreation at 937-333-8400 or visit one of the city’s three recreation centers for more information.
With a mix of activities, supervision, and affordability, the program continues to be a strong option for Dayton families preparing for the summer season.
